Jyotiraditya Scindia Slams Rahul Gandhi, Says His Ideology Is to Divide India

Jyotiraditya Scindia, the Union Minister of Civil Aviation, today launched a scathing attack on the Opposition, accusing them of trying to divide India and of having no confidence in the government.

Scindia Says on No-Confidence Motion

Scindia was speaking in Lok Sabha during the debate on the no-confidence motion against the Narendra Modi government. He said that the Opposition had brought the motion not because they were concerned about the situation in Manipur, but because they were trying to score political points.

“This no-confidence motion is not about Manipur, it is a pretext under which they are tying to bake their political cakes,” Scindia said. “The Prime Minister made a sensitive statement on the Manipur situation outside Parliament, but they are stubborn that he must speak inside the House.”

Scindia Accuses Opposition of Hypocrisy

Scindia also accused the Opposition of being hypocritical, pointing out that they had remained silent when there were incidents of violence in Manipur in the past. “Former Prime Ministers PV Narasimha Rao and Dr Manmohan Singh took a vow of silence” during earlier incidents of violence in Manipur in 1993 and 2011, respectively, Scindia said. “If this is not two-faced politics, politics of convenience, what is?”

Scindia Takes Swipe at AAP & TMC

Scindia also took a swipe at the AAP, which was born out of the anti-corruption movement during the UPA regime, for tying up with the Congress. He said that Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Congress leader in Lok Sabha, had accused Trinamool Congress of political violence and corruption in West Bengal. “Today, the Congress, Trinamool and Left have joined hands. This is their reality,” he said.

Scindia Takes Swipe at RJD and JDU

Scindia also took a swipe at Lalu Prasad Yadav’s RJD and Nitish Kumar’s JDU coming together. “They talk of saving the Constitution, they must first say if they can save their ideals,” he said, adding, “Their hearts don’t meet, their parties have united.”

Scindia’s speech was met with loud cheers from the treasury benches, while the Opposition MPs staged a walkout in protest.

Scindia Responds to Rahul Gandhi’s Attacks on PM Narendra Modi, Says He Has Connected Northeast with the World

In his speech, Scindia also responded to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s verbal attacks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday. “Yesterday, Rahul Gandhi said that for the Prime Minister, Manipur is not a part of India. This Prime Minister has connected the Northeast with the world, he has a close relationship with the Northeast. The ideology of seeing India divided is yours, not ours,” Scindia said.

Scindia Says He Has Never Seen Anything Like This, Believes Opposition Will Have to Apologize to People of India

Scindia also said that he had spent 20 years in Parliament, but he had never seen something like this. “The man on country’s highest post, the Prime Minister who resides in the hearts of 140 crore Indians, the words used for him by the Opposition. I believe they will have to apologise before the people of the country, if not before Parliament,” he said.

Scindia’s speech was seen as a clear sign of the government’s determination to fight back against the Opposition’s attacks. It is also likely to further polarize the political atmosphere in the country in the run-up to the 2024 general elections.
