The video shows a man, masked and wearing a baseball hat and sunglasses, entering the popular eatery at approximately 11:34 am. He can be seen briefly interacting with staff before taking a seat and ordering food.

Crucially, the footage also captures the suspect leaving the cafe just nine minutes later, at 11:43 am. Investigators believe he left a bag containing an improvised explosive device (IED) inside the establishment, which detonated shortly after his departure.

Authorities Seek Public’s Help

The release of the CCTV footage comes as authorities continue their search for the suspect. They are urging the public to come forward with any information that may help identify the individual.

“We are appealing to the public to carefully review the footage and contact us if they recognize the suspect or have any information about his whereabouts,” stated a police spokesperson. “Any details, no matter how small, could be crucial to this investigation.”

Investigation Continues

While the new footage provides valuable insight into the suspect’s movements, the investigation remains ongoing. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is leading the probe, and authorities are looking into the motive behind the attack, potential connections to other individuals or groups, and the source of the explosives used.

The explosion at the Rameshwaram Cafe caused injuries to 10 people, including staff and patrons. Thankfully, there were no fatalities. However, the incident has shaken the city and raised concerns about security in public spaces.

The release of the new CCTV footage marks a possible turning point in the investigation. As the search for the suspect continues, the city of Bengaluru hopes to bring those responsible to justice and ensure the safety of its residents.
