In response, Harry Brook scored 66 runs off 61 balls to keep England’s hopes alive, but they ultimately fell short against the Afghan bowlers’ focused effort, which was headed by Rashid Khan (3/37) and Mujeeb Ur Rahman (3/51).

At the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Sunday during their ICC World Cup encounter against England, Afghanistan was declared out for 284 runs. After winning the toss, England decided to bowl.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz & Ikram Alikhil half centuries:

Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Afghanistan’s opener, led the team in scoring with a 57-ball 80 before being run out, and Ibrahim Zadran added 28 to a first-wicket partnership of 114 runs in 16 overs.

Ikram Alikhil scored 58 off 66 balls after taking Najibullah Zadran’s place in the playing XI. Star leg-spinner Rashid Khan and Mujeeb Ur Rahman contributed 23 and 28, respectively.

Adil Rashid, an English leg-spinner, picked  3/42 for his team.
