Gujarat Titans Release and Trade Players Ahead of IPL 2024 Auction
On December 19, the IPL 2024 auction is set to take place at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. The budget for each squad would be Rs. 100 crore, up from Rs. 95 crore the year before.
For each athlete, this is the third and last year of a three-year contract; a massive auction is anticipated the following year.
Before the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction, Hardik Pandya was eventually traded by Gujarat Titans (GT) to Mumbai Indians (MI). Shubman Gill was thus appointed captain by the Gujarat-based team. With the exception of all-rounder Hardik, the team kept almost all of the prominent names. Ahead of the auction, Dasun Shanaka, Odean Smith, Alzarri Joseph, Shivam Mavi, and KS Bharat were all freed. In addition, Pradeep Sangwan, Urvil Patel, and Yash Dayal were not retained and will now be included in the next auction.
Speaking of Hardik, he returned to MI, where he played in the 2015 Indian Premier League. The all-rounder was selected by GT and appointed captain ahead of the 2022 Indian Premier League.
During the 2022 Indian Premier League season, Hardik guided the Gujarat-based team to victory and was named the ‘Player of the Match’ in the match against the Rajasthan Royals.
GT secured their spot in the IPL final for the second time in their first two seasons during the previous IPL season. They did, however, finish second after falling to the Chennai Super Kings.
In 123 IPL games, Hardik has taken 53 wickets and amassed 2309 runs at a strike average of 139.89.
Shubman Gill Takes the Reins as Gujarat Titans Captain
