Hardik Pandya Blasts WICB for ‘Basic Necessities’ Blunder

Pandya criticized the West Indies cricket board for weak preparations after India defeated the West Indies by 200 runs in the third ODI to win the series 2-1.

Indian captains and post-match presentations following the series’ final ODI look to be a combustible mix. Men’s team stand-in captain Hardik Pandya questioned the West Indies Cricket Board’s arrangements during their tour after women’s team skipper Harmnapreet Kaur faced heavy criticism and a two-match suspension for her behavior during the third ODI against Bangladesh and her words against the umpires in the post-match presentation. Hardik made no attempts after India thrashed West Indies by 200 runs in the third ODI to win the three-match series 2-1.

Hardik was leading for the second time in a row as regular captain Rohit Sharma and star batter Virat Kohli were sidelined once more to allow younger players like Sanju Samson and Ruturaj Gaikwad more opportunities. Daren Ganga, a former West Indies opener who is now a respected pundit, asked Hardik about the amenities at Tarouba’s Brian Cricket Stadium, which hosted its first ODI.

Pandya Praises Brian Cricket Stadium but Questions Other Arrangements

Pandya lauded the stadium, calling it “one of the nicest” settings, but the all-rounder was quick to point out the West Indies Cricket Board’s inadequacies during India’s trip. Hardik went on to express his dissatisfaction with the lack of “basic necessities” and requested that the hosts address this issue in the future.

“This was one of the most beautiful grounds we’ve ever played on.” Things may be better the next time we visit the West Indies. From travelling to managing a variety of tasks. There were some problems last year as well. I believe it is past time for West Indies Cricket to take notice and ensure that when a team goes… We don’t expect for luxury, but we do require certain basic demands to be met. Apart from that, I had a great time coming here and playing some excellent cricket,” Pandya said on Tuesday.

The Indian players had already complained to the BCCI when their late-night journey from Trinidad to Barbados was delayed by over four hours, leaving them sleep-deprived ahead of the first ODI of the series. The top cricketers even recommended that the BCCI refrain from scheduling late-night flights when there is limited time between matches.

Earlier in the day, Hardik made headlines with a sarcastic remark to former West Indies spinner Samuel Badree, who challenged the all-rounder about the pressure of becoming the first Indian captain in 17 years to potentially lose an ODI series to the West Indies if India failed to win the decider. “It’s OK. “I like to stand out,” Hardik explained.

Pandya Remains Unbeaten on 70 as India Score Highest ODI Total in Caribbean

It wasn’t like Hardik was just yelling at the microphone. Even when hitting, he was in a similar attitude. Coming in at No.5, Hardik took his time before teeing off in the final five overs of the Indian innings to increase India’s total to 351/5, the highest ODI score in the Caribbean islands. Hardik was undefeated on 70 off 52 balls, including five sixes and four boundaries.

The batsmen from the West Indies were no match for the Indian bowlers. Mukesh Kumar took three wickets with the new ball to knock the hosts back, and Kuldeep Yadav and Shardul Thakur didn’t give them a chance to recover. India knocked the West Indies out for 151 in 35.3 overs to record their second-largest winning margin over them.

‘I want to be under pressure circumstances as a captain,’ says Hardik.

“This is a unique victory. To be honest, as a captain, I look forward to games where something is on the line. This was more than just a friendly match. We understood what was at risk, and we knew losing would be devastating. The lads exhibited outstanding character. They loved it as well, which is vital in stressful times. “You don’t become a hero unless you can deal with pressure,” Hardik explained.

Kung Fu pandya praised his hitters for setting up the match and his new-ball bowlers for completing it in the powerplay. “Scoring 350 was always important. When you have a total like that, hitters will chase the ball and snag it if luck is on your side. Gill made a couple of excellent catches. West Indies awoke late, and it was that partnership that got them to the 34th over. The game was effectively finished during the powerplay.”
