India vs Australia highlights 4th T20: India Reigns Supreme as Axar Patel and Ravi Bishnoi Star in Raipur Victory

India vs Australia highlights 4th T20: India, down 2-1, will try to win the five-match series against Australia at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Naya Raipur on Friday.

In a nail-biting encounter, India emerged victorious over Australia by 20 runs in the fourth T20I, sealing a resounding series win in Raipur on Saturday. Axar Patel and Ravi Bishnoi were the heroes for India, with their combined spin wizardry dismantling Australia’s batting lineup.

Batting first, India faced early setbacks as Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav fell victim to Australia’s pace attack. However, a spirited middle-order partnership between Rinku Singh and Jitesh Sharma revived India’s innings. Rinku Singh’s fiery 29-ball 46 and Jitesh Sharma’s composed 19-ball 35 propelled India to a respectable total of 174/9.

After Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma, and Yashasvi Jaiswal helped India set up a target of 175 for Australia to chase in Raipur, spinners Axar Patel and Ravi Bishnoi led the way to ensure a 20-run victory for India. India held Australia to 154/7 after they made 174/9 in their 20 overs. With one match remaining, they had secured an unquestionable 3-1 advantage, securing victory in the series as well. With the toss, Matthew Wade elected to bowl first. Four changes for India and five for Australia were made by both parties.

Before the latter fell off the final ball of the powerplay, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad shared a 50-run opening partnership. After Suryakumar and Shreyas Iyer both fell within a few balls of one other, India looked vulnerable. However, Rinku Singh spearheaded a comeback with a 48-run partnership for the fourth wicket with Gaikwad, which came off of just 31 balls. Then, Jitesh Sharma kept up with Rinku’s strike pace, as the two scored 56 runs in just 32 balls for the fifth wicket.

After that, Ben Dwarshuis and Jason Behrendorff each claimed two wickets in the 19th and 20th overs, which resulted in a bit of an India collapse. Rinku failed to hold on until the very end, collapsing off the first delivery of Behrendorff’s final over, which was delivered on 46 off 29. After that, Deepak Chahar was run out on the third ball and Ravi Bishnoi was removed from the game with 20 overs remaining, putting India at 174/9.

In response, Australia’s chase was derailed by the brilliance of Bishnoi, who struck first to remove Josh Phillippe. Axar Patel then took center stage, claiming the crucial wickets of Travis Head, Aaron Hardie, and Ben McDermott. Despite a valiant effort from Australia’s lower order, the Indian bowlers held their nerve, restricting the visitors to 160, securing a hard-fought victory.

Travis Head gave Australia a fantastic start, particularly when he hit a massive 22 runs off Deepak Chahar’s third over. But after the first five overs, India’s spinners Axar Patel and Ravi Bishnoi quickly restored the situation with a barrage of wickets. After the two finished their four overs, it appeared as though India would be in trouble, but pacers Deepak Chahar, Mukesh Kumar, and Avesh Khan kept the pressure on, limiting Australia to 154/7. India went on to win the series as well as the match by a margin of 20 runs.

The win sealed a comprehensive series victory for India, who triumphed 2-1 in the three-match series. Axar Patel was named the Player of the Series for his exceptional contributions with both bat and ball.
