The Indian duo lost 20-18 to the Republic of Korea in a thrilling shoot-off, after the two teams were tied at 16-16 at the end of regulation time.

Panwar and Jindal had started the match strongly, taking an 8-0 lead. However, the Korean pair of Hajun Park and Eunseo Lee fought back to level the scores at 12-12. The two teams then traded points to reach 16-16, before the shoot-off was needed to decide the bronze medal.

In the shoot-off, the Indian duo shot 10.3 and 10.2, while the Korean pair shot 10.4 and 10.3. This was enough to give Korea the bronze medal, while India had to settle for fourth place.

Jindal, who is a 19-year-old rising star in Indian shooting, said that she was proud of her and Panwar’s performance.

“I am proud of the way we shot today,” Jindal said. “We gave it our all and we fought till the end. It was just unfortunate that we couldn’t win the medal.”
