The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday announced a 17-member squad for the upcoming Asia Cup, with Jasprit Bumrah and KL Rahul making their return after long absences due to injuries. Hardik Pandya has been named the vice-captain of the team.

Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul & Shreyas Iyer return

India’s Asia Cup 2023 squad features Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul, and Shreyas Iyer, with Hardik Pandya named vice-captain to Rohit Sharma.

Bumrah and Rahul last played for India in the Test series against South Africa in January 2023. Both players have been recovering from injuries since then. Bumrah is recovering from a back injury, while Rahul is recovering from a groin injury.

Pandya has been in good form in recent months, and he has been rewarded with the vice-captaincy. He has been in good form with both the bat and the ball, and he is expected to play a key role in the Asia Cup.

The Asia Cup will be held in Sri Lanka from August 30 to September 17. Sri Lanka is the defending champions, and they will be looking to win the tournament for the second time in a row.
