Royal Challengers Bangalore Retained, Released and Traded Players Ahead of IPL 2024 Auction

On December 19, the IPL 2024 auction is set to take place at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. The budget for each squad would be Rs. 100 crore, up from Rs. 95 crore the year before.

For each athlete, this is the third and last year of a three-year contract; a massive auction is anticipated the following year.

The auction will be placed outside of India for the first time this time. The auction was ultimately conducted in Kochi last year, although the BCCI had originally intended for it to take place in Istanbul.

On Sunday, November 16, 2023, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) shocked the Indian Premier League (IPL) by benching players like Josh Hazlewood, Harshal Patel, and Wanindu Hasaranga. Today was the deadline for turning in the list of players who were kept on.

In addition to these three well-known figures, the recently retired Englishman David Willey, the Kiwi stars Finn Allen and Michael Bracewell, and the Proteas pacer Wayne Parnell were also let go.

Sonu Yadav, Avinash Singh, Siddharth Kaul, and Kedhar Jadhav were among the Indian players listed as freed. With 11 players out, the Bangalore team now has 11 available positions, five of which need to be filled by foreigners. Additionally, they will be bidding with the largest purse of Rupees 40.75 crore on December 19, 2023, in Dubai.

MI Cameron Green, an all-around player, was moved to Royal Challengers Bangalore. Green participated in 16 games after being purchased at auction in December of last year for an incredible ₹17.5 crore. The Australian opened the IPL with a bang, scoring two half-centuries and an undefeated century while claiming six wickets. The trade was completed in accordance with the current player fee.
