Mayers then followed in Mayers’s footsteps, also lbw for just 1. The ball was too full on the stumps and Mayers missed the sweep, getting struck in front of off-stump.

Pooran and Powell’s crucial knocks

Nicholas Pooran and Rovman Powell both made crucial contributions to West Indies’ total in the first T20I. Pooran’s fighting innings in the middle overs helped West Indies to build a partnership, while Powell’s late assault in the death overs helped them to score 49 runs in the last 5 overs.
